Joe Mendez has over 25 years in the energy industry identifying and capturing value in markets and from assets. He has been involved in over 50 power plant and transmission line debt financings, primarily assisting the debt providers in reviewing power purchase agreements, fuel supply agreements, regulated return models, merchant market forecast models and performing the sensitivity case financial analysis. The power plant fuel types have included gas-fired, coal fired, bio-mass, wind energy and geothermal (DOE Loan Guarantee Program). Mr. Mendez supported the project financing of the Sharyland CREZ project, including opining on the financial model regulatory revenue and expense forecasts, developing the sensitivity case analysis, and reviewing the ownership structure and lease agreements.
Mr. Mendez has a M.B.A. from the University of Texas, a J.D. from UCLA School of Law, and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University.
